Brewery Heads Agree Craft is Slowing, Though Not Sure How to Define it
One of the most intriguing parts of today's Brewbound Session in Brooklyn was the state of the industry panel with Alchemy & Science's Alan Newman, New Belgium's Christine Perich, Brooklyn Brewery's Robin Ottaway and CBA's Andy Thomas. Most of them contend that "craft" -- a term meaning everything, and nothing -- is indeed seeing growth slow and shelf space winnow. Even scarier: capacity may be overbuilt and private equity is way more entrenched than it may seem.
