ABI Buying Belgian Maker of Tripel Karmeliet, Kwak
The beer geeks are really gonna bite their pillows over this one. Belgium's Brouwerij Bosteels -- maker of such iconic brands as the hallowed Tripel Karmeliet, and Kwak, that beer sold in what looks like a Medieval torture device -- is reportedly selling to Anheuser-Busch InBev for a rumored $225 million, "15 times enterprise value to Ebitda," according to Belgian press, via The Street. What's next, a Trappist brewery? (We joke: at this point, as one source puts it, those are "all still owned by God.")
